Priscilla Inks Obituary

Priscilla Capen Inks March 10, 1937 - December 6, 2023 Priscilla C. Inks, 86, of Grand Junction, CO, accepted her invitation to The Great Reward on December 6, 2023.

Priscilla is survived by sister, Elizabeth Ann Browning of Wheatland, WY, Children: Robert (Karen) Hensley III of Dorris, CA; Debra Penny of MI; Denise Murphy of Grand Junction, CO; James (Violeta) Inks of Grand Junction, CO; and Jeffrey Inks of Grand Junction, CO, 11 Grandchildren; 17 Great Grandchildren; and 2 Great-Great Grandchildren.

She is preceded in rest by husband, William Inks; parents, Dwight and Dee Degnan; and brother Robert Degnan.

Mrs. Inks was born in Pasadena, CA on March 10, 1937. In her youth, she enjoyed swimming, dancing, going to the beach, riding horses and caring for her family's chicken and turkey flock alongside her beloved sister, Ann. Alumna of San Rafael Elementary, McKinley Junior High and John Muir High School. Priscilla also modeled fashion for T.W. Mather Department Store in Pasadena. In addition to having an eye for style and fashion, Pris had an appreciation for the outdoors and loved to travel. During her marriage to Robert Hensley Jr., she lived and managed her family's household in Heidelberg, Germany; later in Covina, CA and Angels Camp, CA.

No matter the circumstance, Priscilla loved her family passionately and took great pride in being a mother to her five children. From preparing home cooked meals and baked goods with love and joy, to making sure the family was prepared for every road trip, to hosting the best pool parties; her greatest joy came from spending quality time with family and friends. Priscilla loved good conversation and was an excellent conversationalist. The warmth of her laughter, and impeccable sense of humor, were perfectly balanced with her firm but fair nature. You could always count on Pris to give you sound and direct advice. She was well spoken, curious, sincere and extremely personable. Priscilla always saw the best in everyone who had the pleasure of meeting her.

Priscilla relocated to The Western Slope in 1968 with husband William Inks and family. She was always proud of this beautiful community and the natural landscape of the Grand Valley. Her favorite pastimes include trips to Lake Powell, water skiing, reading the newspaper, shopping, listening to good music (Frank Sinatra, her favorite) and being a dessert aficionado (Pris never turned down a good creme brulée or a trip to Homestyle Bakery). We will always remember Priscilla for her signature pink lipstick, fearless spirit, and unconditional love as a mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and friend.

She is deeply loved and missed by family, friends and acquaintances alike.

Celebration of Life will be held June 1,2024.

My deepest condolences to you Jeff and Family, I remember the good times we had together when your Dad and Marvin worked for the railroad. She always a joy to be around and I have the privilege to visit with her when she came into the salon to get her hair cut. She always had a smile on her face. Always positive about life and lived it to her fullest. I will always remember her beautiful smile .
Peace be with and may you fly with the angels.
