Robert Ramirez, age 70, beloved father and grandfather, was called to his eternal resting place on October 30, 2020, in Presidio, Texas.
He entered this world on October 25, 1950, in Carlsbad, NM, born to Jesus and Josephina Ramirez. Robert spent many years in Grand Junction, Colorado before relocating to Ojinaga, Mexico.
A kind and humble man, Robert cherished time spent with his children and grandchildren, as well as his beloved horses and donkey. You could find Robert enjoying the great outdoors fishing and camping with his family. He enjoyed playing pranks on and alongside his 14 siblings. Before retiring Robert was the proud owner of Fruita/Grand Junction Body and Paint for over 38 years.
Those left to cherish his love and memories are his wife, Guadalupe Olivas of Ojinaga, Mexico; children, Yvonne (Richard) Sanchez of Fruita, Colorado; Shirley (Jose) Gutierrez-Ruiz of Grand Junction, Colorado; Robert Ramirez Jr. of Lexington, Kentucky; Robin Johnson of Grand Junction, Colorado; Erika Ramirez Olivas of Ciudad Victoria, Tamaulipas Mexico, and Irai Contreras Hernandez of Roosevelt, Utah; siblings, Maria Medina of Hobbs, New Mexico; Olivia Rascon of Pueblo; Colorado; Jesus Jr. (Maria) Ramirez of Carlsbad, New Mexico; Joe (Becky) Ramirez of Las Cruces, New Mexico; Sylvia (George) Serrano of Hobbs, New Mexico; Carlos (Alma) Ramirez of Odessa, Texas; Oralia McCormick of Clifton, Colorado; Julianna Galindo of Lake Havasu City, Arizona; Ruben (Emma) of Carlsbad, New Mexico; Oscar (Naomi) Ramirez of Carlsbad, New Mexico; Sam Ramirez of Carlsbad, New Mexico; Eva "Pebbles" (Larry) Lopez of Carlsbad, New Mexico, and Adan "Cuate" (Monique) Ramirez of Oceanside, California; numerous nieces and nephews; ten grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
Robert was preceded in death by parents, Jesus and Josephina Ramirez; grandparents, Domingo Ramirez Tercero, and Maria De Jesus Carrasco; brother, Catarino Ramirez; brothers-in-law, Sam Rascon and Jay McCormack; sister-in-law, Hortencia Ramirez; first wife, Diana Castillo; son Richard Ramirez, and grandson, Eric A. Villa
The Rosary will be at 10:00 a.m., and Mass will follow at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 30, 2020, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Fruita, CO.
