Bonita Lynn Kukulis

1950 - 2016

Bonita "Bonnie" Lynn Kukulis, age 65, of Munising and formerly of Gladwin, Michigan, went to be with her Lord, following her courageous nine year battle with cancer, on Sunday, April 24, 2016 at her home, under the loving care of her family and North Woods Home Hospice.
She was born on Aug. 22, 1950 to Harry and Eileen (Farr) Wiederhold in Flint, Michigan. Bonnie graduated from Clio Area High School in 1968.
She married Donnie L. Kukulis on January 24, 1975 in the Clio Wesleyan Church. Bonnie worked at the Cedar Street Day Care in Flint until they moved to Gladwin where she worked as a teacher's aide until her retirement in 2005.
Following retirement, Bonnie and Don moved to Munising where they fell in love with the Upper Peninsula. She was a member of the Munising Wesleyan Church. Bonnie enjoyed making quilts with her quilting group, and loved spending time with her family. She cherished their camping trips to Aune Osborn Campground in Sault Ste. Marie where they could watch the ships going in and out of the Soo Locks.
Bonnie is survived by her husband of 41 years, Don Kukulis of Munising; children, Jill (Steven) Rajewski of Flushing, Bret Kukulis of Swartz Creek, and Russ (Karen SeKrenes) Kukulis of Gladwin; mother, Eileen Wiederhold of Clio; grandson Nichalous Rajewski; sisters Pam (Keith) Jackson, Laurie Deloney, and Lisa (Ken Bogos)Taylor-Bogos; numerous nieces and nephews; and many dear friends. She was preceded in death by her father Harry.
Visitation will be on Saturday, May 21, 2016 at the Fellowship Baptist Church (14046 N. Saginaw Road, Clio, Michigan 48420) from 2-6 p.m. Pastor Darrel Manning will conduct Bonnie's memorial service at 4 p.m. A time of fellowship will follow the memorial service at the church.
