Jacques J. Coallier

1932 - 2021

Jacques J. Coallier, loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend left to be with his Lord on March 15, 2021 with his wife and children by his side. He was born in Verdun, Quebec, Canada on October 3, 1932 to the late Armand and Lydia (Bergeron) Coallier. Preceding him in death were his beloved first wife, Nora Coallier; and daughter, Jeannine Coallier; and his siblings, Marie Coallier, Stanley, and Robert Collier. He leaves his devoted wife and best friend, Mary Coallier; daughter, Maureen (James Fair Jr.) Coallier-Fair; and son, Larry (Melanie) Coallier; grandchildren, Ashley (Jeffery) West, Brendan (Bethany) Coallier, Austin (Erin) Coallier, and Nolan (Stephanie) Coallier; five great-grandchildren, Alayna West, Adelyn West, Simon West, Brynlee Coallier, and Regan Coallier; sister, Micheline Sommers (Dahlvin Peterson); and brother, Armand (Michelle) Coallier.
A veteran of the Korean War and proud UAW member, he raised his family in Southeastern, Michigan and moved to the Gladwin/West Branch area after retirement in 1993. He loved being with his family and friends, playing cribbage, especially with his grandchildren, long talks about current events and politics, cheering for the Red Wings, tomato sandwiches and Buckeye's corn in the summer, fall color tours, and holding hands with his wife. He will be deeply missed.
The family is forgoing a public viewing, instead, planning an outdoor memorial celebration in the fall, pandemic permitting and request donations to the Mustard Seed Shelter, 1325 Cherry St. in Saginaw, Michigan in lieu of any flowers. Arrangements have been entrusted to Lee-Ramsay Funeral Home- Gladwin Chapel.
