John Patrick Abbott

John "Pat" Patrick Abbott, age 65 of Gladwin, Michigan, passed away at MidMichigan Medical Center – Midland on Wednesday, Jan. 17. He was born in Detroit, Michigan, on March 17, 1952 the son of Harold and Rosemary (DeSantis) Abbott. On December 7, 1990 he was united in marriage to Diane Conde in Ypsilanti, Michigan. He was a very loving father and grandfather and he had lived in Gladwin County since 1999, previously residing in Whitmore Lake, Michigan.
He was owner/operator of Abbott Amusement Inc.-Beaverton Bowling Alley in Beaverton, Michigan. Pat was a member of F.O.E. Ypsilanti Aerie and Albright Shores Aerie 3655. He was also a member of the Moose Lodge in Ypsilanti and a member of BABA.
His memory will be cherished by his loving wife of 27 years, Diane Abbott of Gladwin; two sons, Anthony P. (Lisa) Abbott of Beaverton and Jason (Angie) Porter of Linden.
He was blessed with seven beautiful grandchildren, Courtney, Nathan, Matthew, Olivia, Sophia, Caleb and Silas.
He will be dearly missed by his brother, Gerald Abbott of New Jersey and sisters, Yvonne Wade, Marilyn Price and Julie L. JeJonge.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Rosemary Abbott; step-mother, Shirley Wise; and his grandfather, Patrick DeSantis.
Funeral services were conducted by Fr. Marcel Portelli on Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2:30 p.m. at Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home, Gladwin, Michigan. The family received friends on Monday, Jan. 22, from 2-8 p.m. He was laid to rest at Highland Cemetery, Gladwin, Michigan. www.hallkokotovichfuneralhome.com.
