Jeffery Dahle, Jr., was born Sept. 30, 1982, in Mason City, Iowa, the son of Jeffery Allen Dahle Sr. and Michelle (James) Dahle. Jeff was baptized at the Garner United Methodist Church as a young child. Jeff not only blessed the lives of his parents, but also had a special place in the heart of his aunt, Melissa Rottinghaus, who loved to spoil him, as well as other family members and friends.

He attended Belmond-Klemme Community Schools and had worked in various occupations including Winnebago Industries.

Throughout his life, he always was soft hearted and he was gentle in nature. His love for his family and friends was undying. Jeffery very much loved all animals and had a special fondness for his cats which were for the most part thought of as his "kids."

In earlier years, one might find him waxing down the railing of businesses in town preparing them for some adventuresome rides on his roller blades. Jeff enjoyed shooting hoops and tinkering and spending time on computers.

He was a good kid who always had an eye out to be sure his younger siblings were OK. He always enjoyed spending time with them. Jeff was a big kid at heart who looked forward to a friendly but competitive battles with his dad and anyone else who would play him in a favorite video game.

A smile came across his face and a little extra stride in his step when he was breaking in a new pair of shoes, jeans, or other new clothing. He had a sweet tooth and liked to eat junk food, listening to his favorite tunes and was a fan of WWF.

His family will very much miss his presence in their lives, as their lives will be different without him. They will remember and love him always.

Those left to cherish his memory include his mother, Michelle Mitthun, and husband, Kurt, Belmond; his father, Jeffery Allen Sr., and his companion, Laurie Swearingen, Britt; paternal grandparents, Glen and Delores Ingersoll, Mason City; maternal grandparents, Steve and Lois James, Kewanee, Ill.; step-grandparents, Marlin and Mary Mitthun, Thompson; maternal great-grandmothers, Eveline Bauer, Hebron, Neb., and Ann Byrd, Shafter, Calif.; his brother, Jordan Hansen, and sisters, Cassie Hansen and Lexie Hartmann, all of Belmond; aunts, Carol Wiseman, Los Angeles, Calif. and Melissa Rottinghaus and her husband, Jim, Belmond; uncles, Michael James, Kewanee, Ill., and Mark James and companion, Missy Kelly, Toulon, Ill.; aunts, Laurie Athanisou and husband, Sam, Garner, and Shelly Frein and husband, Brad, Garner; uncles, Kevin Dahle and wife, Kathy, Fort Worth, Texas, and Kenny Russell and wife, Pam, Le Center, Minn.; his cousins, Skye Rottinghaus and Nick Colvin, both of Belmond; and also his special cat, "Mary."

Jeff was preceded in death by his great-grandfathers, Ted Mathiesen and Floyd Byrd; and he always cherished the memories of his cat, "Babes," and dog, "Spike."

I feel for you as you grieve the loss of your child. But he will never be truly gone unless we forget. It sounds like he had too many family and friends that loved him to much for that to ever happen. May you rest assured he is in a better place. Also have comfort in knowing your family and friends are here for you.
