Kevin John Lewerke was born April 8, 1971, in Mason City, Iowa, the son of Curtis and Julie (Teunis) Lewerke. Kevin graduated in the class of 1989 from Clear Lake High School, and went on to receive his associate's degree at North Iowa Area Community College, and his bachelor's degree in Business Administration at the University of Iowa.

Kevin was united in marriage to Rebecca "Becky" Dietrich on August 21, 1999. To this union they were blessed with four children, Lincoln, Grant, Ellea, and Greta Lewerke. Kevin worked for Schukei Chevrolet in Mason City, Iowa for several years. On January 2, 1997, Kevin joined the family business, Woodharbor where he worked his way up to Chief Operating Officer.

Kevin was a collector, and especially enjoyed collecting coins, rocks, and shells. He also had a love for antiquing, weight lifting, scuba diving, bird watching, and fishing. Kevin loved spending time with his children, and attended their school, sport, and cheer activities. He had a great sense of humor and even made TikTok videos with his girls!

Kevin relished his time with his family and made endless memories at their cabin on Beaver Lake, Minnesota, and on their annual trip to Sanibel Island, Florida. Kevin was a true gentleman, role model to all, and had the biggest heart. He included everyone, was a natural teacher, and loved all creatures big and small!

Kevin is survived by his wife Becky Lewerke, children Lincoln, Grant, Ellea, and Greta Lewerke; parents Curtis (Julie) Lewerke, sisters, Karen Wistrom and Karla (Jason) Parker; mother-in-law, Vickie Dietrich; along with several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, co-workers, and his beloved pups Wally, Wanda, and Mabel.

I got to know Kevin when he worked as a sales person at Schukei Chevrolet. I liked him right away because of his smile and his friendly disposition. He always said good morning, have a great day, and would lend a hand whenever it was needed. My sincere condolences to his family and friends.

Kevin will be greatly missed by my family. When I was deployed to Iraq in 2003-2004 and my wife Denise suffered a serious illness, Kevin stepped up to help her keep the sidewalks free of snow and ice. After my stepfather passed away, Kevin helped my mother stay in her home and independent longer than she possibly could have on her own. When she couldn't manage that even with assistance, he helped her move to a new home with less demands on her; then helped her move again to assisted living when that became too demanding. He was there to lend a hand to my mother all the times that I couldn't do so from North Carolina. He was there as a mentor and source of sound advice for my son as a young adult starting his first serious job at Woodharbor. Kevin was one of the finest people I have ever had the privilege of knowing; the community has lost one of it's best citizens with his passing. Denise and I extend our deepest condolences to his family.
