Leslie Jean Daly

Leslie Jean Daly, 71, of St. Louis Park, MN, passed away on January 14, 2018. Leslie was born March 17, 1946 in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Robert and Vivian (Gorman) Bennett. She graduated from Mason City High School, class of 1964.
Leslie's love of dance was fostered at an early age, as well as, her passion to teach the art of dance. She began instructing dance classes while still in high school followed closely by Bennett & Diggins Dance Studio in Mason City.
Leslie also worked at United Home Bank in Mason City which led to her relocating to the Minneapolis area where she continued working in the banking industry until later founding Hopkins Dance Center and the Youth Ballet of Hopkins.
While Leslie was skilled at many forms of dance instruction, her forte was ballet. She traveled throughout the U.S. teaching master classes in ballet technique, as well as, being a judge at many national competitions.
She is survived by her husband, Eugene Chase; stepson, Jeffrey (Sandra) Chase; sister, Cynthia Heine, Asheville, NC; brothers, Robin (Susan) Bennett, Mason City, IA; Todd Bennett, Milwaukee, WI; nephews, Clinton and Justin Heine, Alexander Bennett and niece, Parris Bennett.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, February 18, 2018 at 1:00 PM at Hopkins Dance Center, 821 1/2 Main Street, Hopkins, MN.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Hopkins Dance Center "Angel Fund".
