MASON CITY | Marian S. Stewart, 98, of Mason City, died Sunday morning, Aug. 31, 2014, at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 6, 2014, at First United Methodist Church in Mason City with Rev. Sean McRoberts officiating.
Inurnment will follow the services at Memorial Park Cemetery in Mason City.
A visitation will be one hour prior to the services at First United Methodist Church.
Marian S. Stewart was born Sept. 29, 1915, in Boyden, the daughter of Charles and Sadie (Dean) Hoffa. She graduated from Pequot Lakes High School and then went on to receive her teaching degree from the Pine River Teachers School. She enjoyed crocheting and reading. She was a faithful member of First United Methodist Church in Mason City.
Those grateful in sharing in her life are her daughter and son-in-law, Betty and Don Chipman of Mason City, six granddaughters, Christy (Clayton) Adams of Mason City, Michelle (Jody) Jones of Newalla, Oaklahoma, Stacy (Jeff) Evans of Yukon, Oklahoma, Cathy (Robert) Foote of Yukon, Oklahoma, Sarah (Jeff) Gorder of Utica, Minnesota, and Emily Stewart of Mankato, Minnesota, eight great-grandchildren, Jessica, Nick and Jared Adams, Austin and Hayden Evans, McKenlee and Kale Foote, and Khierra Jones, and two great-great-granddaughters, Autumn and Brynleigh Adams.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Ralph M. Stewart in 2006, two sons, Kenneth "Ken" and James "Jim" Stewart, two brothers and two sisters.
