Robert 'Rip' Rippentrop
ROCKWELL - Robert "Rip" Rippentrop, 71, of Rockwell, Iowa, passed away Monday, Feb. 16, 2015, surrounded by family at Mercy Medical Center North Iowa, Mason City, Iowa. Rip donated to the Iowa Donor Network.
Celebration of his life will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, Feb. 20, 2015, at Grace Evangelical Free Church, Mason City, with Pastor Scott Davis officiating.
Family will greet friends Thursday from 5-7 p.m. at the Hogan-Bremer-Moore Colonial Chapel, Mason City, and then one hour before the service on Friday at the church. Family suggests memorials to Robert Rippentrop memorial fund.
Robert was born May 29, 1943, in Buffalo Center, Iowa, the son of Donald and Josephine (Wessels) Rippentrop. He attended school in Fertile, Iowa. He married the love of his life, Bev Paulson, Feb. 22, 1964, in Clear Lake, Iowa, and to this union they were blessed with two children, Scott and Jeff.
Following school he worked as an auto mechanic for various shops, until he owned and operated Rip's Repair, until he retired.
Rip enjoyed hunting; fishing; camping; riding his ATV with his close friend George in Arizona, also many trips on his Harley with wife Bev. Rip enjoyed spending time with family, friends and his pets.
Bob is survived by his loving wife of 50 years Bev Rippentrop, Rockwell, Iowa; two sons Scott (Tina) Rippentrop and their children Drew and Alex Dahley, Rockwell, Iowa and Jeff (Karla) Rippentrop and their children Michael and Nicole Rippentrop (Jake Hutzel) all of Mason City, Iowa; two sisters Jean (Ron) LaCoste, Rockford, Iowa and JoAnn (Larry) Mozack, Mason City, Iowa and sister-in-law Kathy Rippentrop, Minnesota; nieces, nephews and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Ron Rippentrop and his wife Linda and Rodney Rippentrop.
