Ron was born Sept. 19, 1929, in rural Mason City at home, the son of Elmer and Grace (Beenken ) Heinold. He received his education at Falls Township Country School, where he also met the love of his life, Dorothy Frazier. They were married on Aug. 16, 1948.
His first place of employment was 100 Sedars until they moved to the family farm.
Ron's passion in life was farming. He enjoyed the hard work that it took and always appreciated the farm and the life it gave to him. Upon retirement they moved to Mason City where he currently resided. He enjoyed working in sales for McNess Feeds, Lancer's Clothing and Gildner's Clothing Store. In his retirement years he drove the Mason City transit bus; which became another passion.
As an adult, Ron realized he was born a sinner in need of a savior. He prayed and asked Jesus into his heart and his desire was to serve and glorify God. He was a member of the Calvary Alliance Church, where he served as a head usher and board member. Later he became a regular attender at the Grace Evangelical Free Church.
Ron was surrounded by faithful friends and family, which he was extremely honored to have in his life. He enjoyed the time that he spent with his family and friends and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Left to remember him are his wife, Dorothy Heinold of Mason City; children, Patricia Kammrad and husband, Dick, of Mason City, David Heinold and wife, Linda, of Rockwell, and Marilyn Brainerd and husband, Barrett, of Mason City; grandchildren, Nicole (Dan), Emily (Trevor), Misti (Tod), Jennifer (Shayne), Rachel, Dustin (Sandra) and Kim; and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Vernon; and two sisters, Alma and Marian.
Arrangements are with Major Erickson Funeral Home & Crematory, 111 N. Pennsylvania Ave., Mason City, Iowa 50401; 641-423-0924; www.majorericksonfuneralhome. com.
