OSAGE - Steven J. Roths, 59, of Osage, died Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013, after a year-long courageous battle at the Mitchell County Regional Health Center-Hospice Unit, in Osage.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 12, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Osage with Monsignor John Hemann officiating.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today, Monday, Feb. 11, at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage with a vigil service at 7 p.m.
Steven J. Roths was born Aug. 7, 1953, in Tucson, Arizona, the son of Donald and Carolyn (Smith) Roths. Steven attended schools in Belvidere, Ill., McHenry, Ill., and graduated from Charles City High Scholl in 1971.
He served in the United States Navy from 1973 to 1975. Steven was united in marriage to Connie Kobernusz on Aug. 11, 1979, in Charles City.
He was employed at Mon-Ray Windows in Osage and then he attended North Iowa Area Community College and graduated in 1994. Steven and Connie then moved to Spencer, where he was employed at Christians Sheet Metal. Most recently Steven worked at Mechanical Air Systems in Mason City.
Steven and Connie enjoyed many trips on their motorcycle across the country with their friends Bob and Lois Becker from Spencer. He also enjoyed archery and he especially enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Steven is survived by his wife, Connie Roths; his daughter, Stacy Hanson and Kevin Hanson and their children Jenna, Jayden, and Joryn; his son, Ian Roths and his daughter Aubrey; his parents, Don and Carolyn Roths; his brothers, David (Lori) Roths, John (Alyssa) Roths; his sisters, Martha (Randy) Brunner, Jennifer (Kurt) Burton; his sisters-in-law, Carol (Terry) Smalley, Maxine (Bob) Bollman; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Clarence (Agnes) Smith and Arthur (Martha) Roths.
