C. Boor Obituary

DRY FORK - C. Andrew "Andy" Boor, 75, of the Dry Fork community, died at 6 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 20, 2007, at his residence.
Born June 21, 1932, in Keyser, W.Va., he was the son of the late Wayne C. Boor and the late Elizabeth Pownall Boor.
He attended Potomac State College and was a graduate of West Virginia University. He had been employed as a certified public accountant for the past 52 years, and was the founder and senior partner of Boor Howard and Co. for the past 38 years. Andy was raised in the Lutheran church. He was a charter member of Ascension Lutheran Church and later became an active member of Christ Episcopal Church. He was a 32nd degree Mason and a member of the Petersburg, W.Va. Masonic Lodge 145, where he received his 50 year pin. He was a member of ACCA Shrine in Richmond, and a past president of the Danville Shrine Club. He was a member of the American Institute of CPAs and the Virginia Society of CPAs.
Andy was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. His family will miss him dearly. There can be no doubt that Andy has been greeted by our Lord and Saviour and by his family who has passed before, including his beloved friend, Barney, and his grandson, Jesse Wayne.
He married Pamela Hoskins Boor on Dec. 17, 1988.
In addition to his wife, of the residence, he is survived by a son, David A. Boor and wife, Melissa, of Jacksonville, Fla.; five daughters, Amy B. Munn and husband, David, of Afton, Rebecca B. Mattson and husband, Dennis, of Riverside, Calif., Sarah B. Harlow and husband, Barry, of Danville, Kristi H. Ross and husband, John, of Rosedale, Md., and Kati E. Howard of Danville; two brothers, John Boor of Flippin, Ark., and William Boor of Camp Hill, Pa.; and 13 grandchildren, Brandon Boor, Allison Boor, Mandy Boor, Will Hereford, Mason Hereford, Molly Hereford, Andrew St. John Hereford, Tucker Helgeson, Sean Helgeson, Kellie-Anne Harlow, B.J. Harlow, Mary Elizabeth Ross and Jake Howard. He is also survived by his beloved dog, Maddy Jo Boor.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 23, at Christ Episcopal Church on Franklin Turnpike, Danville, with the Very Rev. Cleon Ross officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 22, at Christ Episcopal Church; at other times they will be at the residence.
Donations may be made to the Danville-Pittsylvania Humane Society or Christ Episcopal Church.
Swicegood Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
