Charmaine Davis Obituary
DANVILLE, Va. - Charmaine Tamika Davis, 28, of 209 Baugh St., died Sunday, May 23, 2004 in Franklin County, Va.
Born Dec. 20, 1975, in Danville, she was a daughter of Jim Davis and Pollie Ann Cosby.
She was a student at Danville Community College and was a member of Immanuel Kingdom, Danville.
In addition to her father, of Chatham and her mother, of Danville, she is survived by a daughter, Shamika Tate and two sons, Levi Tate and Shantine Davis, all of Danville; two sisters, Jimelle Davis of Danville and Tonia Saunders of Hyattsville, Md.; one brother, Jamar Davis of Stanford, Conn.; maternal grandmother, Ruth Calloway of Gretna and paternal grandparents, Walter and Katherine Davis of Chatham.
The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the chapel of Miller Funeral Home with the Rev. Alfonzo Tate officiating. Interment will be in Hill Crest Burial Park.
Viewing and visitation will be 3 to 7 p.m. Friday at Miller Funeral Home.
The family is receiving friends at the residence of Ruth Calloway, 109 Payne Street, Gretna and Mr. and Mrs. Walter Davis, North Main Street. The cortege will assemble at the residence of Ruth Calloway at noon on Saturday.
Miller Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

I am truly sorry to hear about your loss. It's human for us to ask why do bad things happen to good people. God puts no more on us than we can bear. You may be grieving now and that is okay, but Mika is smiling down on us because she is in a much much better place than we can even imagine. Tamika worshipped with us for a while at Bennett Memorial, she was such a sweet person and had a loving smile. She was extremely fashionable and noticed for her Blonde hair. She will be truly missed. Mika, you were a beautiful lady. The only black woman I know that could wear blonde hair and get a way with it. I can still hear our last conversation ringing in my ears, the way you made me laugh I'll never forget it. Sleep on beautiful lady, because God has a special place for you.
