I did not know George personally, but graduated from Longwood College ('56) with his grandmother, Margurete Franklin Grekos. Living near Christopher Newport University, I have read about his wonderful contributions to the University and the love and respect his friends and University had for him. I feel the heartbreak of this family and especially Margurete. Sending my love, deepest sympathy, and prayers for George's beloved family and friends. May God's peace and comfort be with each of you at this very difficult and sad time. Blessings to all, Shirley Kemp Barlow

Although his lessons took place earlier in my life,he was my Spring Garden Elementary principal, the influence and knowledge was instilled and has grown in me ever since. From the shark lessons he would discuss to the instructions on punting a football, Mr. Grekos's guidance was radiated throughout many students lives and I am sure that some of those instructional moments, regardless of how big or small, are everlasting. Thanks Mr. Grekos for the wonderful early childhood guidance and the everlasting memories.

Paul, Cheryl & family:

There are a only a few people we meet that have the ability to affect our lives in a positive, enduring way as your Dad. He made such a powerful impact of Lexi during those years he volunteered to read for her classes at Twin Springs. Mr. Grekos always had a smile and hug for her as he did for all the children. That God given part of him, that made him so endearing to other people, is past on through his family. What an amazing legacy he left for Olivia and George. We pray God's Holy Spirit will sustain you during this time and fill your hearts with His comfort and peace.

To the Grekos Family,

You are all in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. Mr. Grekos was a very good friend of my parents and I grew up hearing about this wonderful man.

I experienced the kindness of him when I attended Blairs Jr. High School and had contact with him. His love and concern for all students was so apparent. You also knew that he held you accountable for your actions and you tried to live up to his expectations.

I was not surprised at all when I found out he was involved with the preschool at his beloved church and when I heard he devoted time and love to the babies at the hospital. He was truly a loving and giving person. His legacy will live on for years to come.

Mr. Grekos showed God's love to everyone. He will be missed, but we will be with him again. He fought a brave fight here on this earth and he has received his final victory!

Thank you for sharing him with so many people!
