John "Jack" Oliver Yeatts, 90, of 220 Sportsman Rd., Dry Fork, Va. passed from this life into the arms of his Savior on Thursday, November 23, 2017, at Sovah Health Danville. He was born on April 16, 1927, in Dry Fork to the late Rosa Davis Yeatts and the late John W. Yeatts. Mr. Yeatts was also preceded in death by his wife, Frances Beck Yeatts. He proudly served his country with the U.S. Air Force in Korea. He retired from Dan River Mills. Since 1953, Mr. Yeatts has been a member of Emmanuel Pentecostal Holiness Church, where he was active as a Choir Member and in Men's Bible Class. Mr. Yeatts is survived by his son, Keith Yeatts and wife, Linda Swanson Yeatts of Dry Fork, Va.; and his daughter, Pamela Yeatts Matherly and husband, Mark of Providence, N.C. Surviving grandchildren include Maria Matherly, Jacob Matherly, Timothy Matherly, and Nicholas Matherly. In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Yeatts was predeceased by his eight siblings: Eury Yeatts, Ethel Haymore, Lee Yeatts, Louise Yeatts, Eliza Ricketts, Frank Yeatts, George Yeatts, and Dorothy Johnson. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, November 26, 2017, at Norris Mt. Hermon Chapel with the Rev. Albert Moser, the Rev. Cecil Coates, and the Rev. Gerald Kelly officiating. Interment will follow at Emmanuel Pentecostal Holiness Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home immediately prior to the service, from 1 until 2:30 p.m. Sunday, November 26, 2017, and at other times at the residence, 220 Sportsman Rd., Dry Fork, Va.
