Lillie Wilson Carter Teneyck

November 18, 1934 - October 19, 2024

Lillie Wilson Carter Teneyck, 89, of Washington, DC, passed away, on Saturday, October 19, 2024, at Howard University Hospital, Washington, DC.

Born November 18, 1934, in Pittsylvania County, VA, she was the daughter of the late, General Green Wilson and Cordie Barksdale Wilson. She was married to the late, Frank A. Teneyck.

She was the last of her generation.

Survivors include one daughter, Shirley Brandon of Danville, VA; four sons, Joe Carter (Colleen) of Chesapeake, VA; Larry Carter (Patricia) of Collinsville, VA; Carl Carter (Diane) of Washington, DC; adopted son, Christopher Omar Carter of Washington, DC; 28 grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by one daughter, Julie Hamm; one son, John Haywood King; and 20 siblings.

The family will receive friends at the residence of her daughter, Shirley Brandon, 235 Hamlin Ave, Danville, VA.

Funeral services are incomplete at this time and will be announced upon completion.
