To Paul's Family,

I was so saddened to hear of the loss of Mr. Desol. I was a 1987 Burke graduate and thought very highly of him. He was a great teacher, coach and friend. He had such a great way of being really tough and a teddy bear at the same time. He was a master at his profession and a mentor to so many. Remembering his life and the joy he brought to all of us will allow him to live on in our hearts forever. My prayers and thoughts are with you during this very difficult time. God Bless!

Paul Desol was a great young man. He epitomized what parents pray for in raising a son. I coached Paul on a little league team in his early teens. He was polite ,considerate of his peers , and a pleasure to work with. He maintained his beautiful manner through out his life. He will be missed by all who knew him.

To the Desol Family,

My family is truly saddened at the loss of Paul. Paul spent many hours at our house during my growing up. On more than one occasion he brought by Mrs. Desol's famous cookies to brighten up a dark day or celebrate a good one. Thank you Paul for my first trip to Yankee Stadium, for being such a good friend to my brother, and for being such a positive role model for my children. If success were measured by how much we are respected and loved by others Paul you are one of the most succesful men we know.

Mr. DeSol, you have always been a huge part of my life. I grew up looking forward to seeing you at Sports Camp, and I'll miss seeing you at card shows around town. I'm looking forward to October, because I know you will be at every Yankee game cheering them on to another World Series championship. You will always be missed, but will never be forgotten.

To the family of Paul,

I remember Paulie D hitting me hundreds of ground balls until I did the crow hop right. I remember him losing his temper one minute and then flashing a smile under his mustache the next! In 1988 we won the Softball State Championships. The most excited man on the field was Paul. He was intense, knowledgeable, funny and competitive - all traits that made him a successful coach. I am proud to model my coaching style after him. After all he knew how to win. He was a great man who made a huge impact on my life. May he Rest in Peace.

I am totally shocked when I read Paul's obituary this morning. The other day he crossed my mind even though I haven't seen him for a few years. The memories of Paul's kindness and friendship will be with us all forever. He was truly a life long friend and most certainly one of the good guys. He will surely be missed by all that had the privilege of knowing him.

I will cherish our times together from as long ago as Babe Ruth Baseball League for the First Ward Social & Athelic Club, all the way through our high school years and beyond. When we moved to FL, he took my place and became a son to my dad, who will never forget and always cherish their times together, especially in the card store.

Our thoughts and prayers are with his family & friends.

With love,

It is with great sadness to hear of the passing of Mr. Desol. I had him as a math teacher at Burke Catholic in the early 80's. He was a great teacher and coach, but most of all he was an outstanding person. My thoughts and prayers are with him and his family.

Wendy and the DeSol family,

I was extremely saddened by the news of Paul's passing. My thoughts and prayers will stay with all of you. He was a coach, teacher and math tutor to my brother Matt and I, and a TRUE;LOYAL family friend. I spent a great deal of time with him during my high school days at Burke and in Babe Ruth baseball. He guided me through much of my upbringing on his sports teams and in the classroom. An absolute class act, who rarely let his guard down, Paul coached, taught, and carried himself as straight as an arrow. Everyone would be much better off if they were lucky enough to have played one season for Paul. I always admired his unselfishness, professionalism and passion for his work and of course the Yankees and his beloved #15.

A true-blue Middletowner, I owe Paul a big thank you for being such a great person to my family and I. If there ever was a non-player inducted into monument park in that great ballpark in the Bronx, it would surely be Paul DeSol.

Rest in peace my dear FRIEND. You will be forever missed.

To Paul's family,

In the summer of 1985 I played my first season of Babe Ruth Baseball in Middletown. I was fortunate enough to make the travel All Star team and have Paul DeSol as a coach and mentor. We went on to win a state title that summer and Paul was a large reason for that. His love for the game was infectious. Several of the players from that team have gone on to coach baseball themselves and I think I can talk for all of us on that team in saying that Paul DeSol made a huge impact on each of us and will certainly be missed.

I had Mr DeSol freshmen year [03-04] at wallkill high. Mr DeSol yes was a very tough and edgy man at times, BUT he was a great math teacher. he taught me alot and i know deep down inside he was a great man. I do and will miss him because he gave me and my friends some good memories. i remember the last time i saw him was last week, i was getting yelled at by a teacher and he was around and watching and he went into a room and that was the last time i saw him. so i pray for his family and friends and wallkill high will defiently miss Mr DeSol, thanks for everything and God bless.

Albert Street playground, and any other playground or ballfield in Middletown would not have been the same without Paul, who was "The Rulebook." We played every sport as kids with no ref or umpire and any time we had to settle a dispute, we had Paul. His word on the rules and on the "call" was respected by every kid in the neighborhood. Paul was a friend and a team mate. He was always upbeat, gracious, and reliable. I will miss seeing him during visits to M-town. The world will miss Paul DeSol.

Dear Wendy and Family

Both Debbie and I send our deepest sympathies to you and your family. Paulie was a great colleague at Burke. His state championship victroy was a metaphor for his life. He inspired happiness and success in all those he taught and coached. He tutored Debbie and I in math. I remember so clearly the day he went to CCNY and picked up our dipolmas and delivered them to our home. Our collegial careers crossed again as instructors at OCCC. His passion for the Yankees was an un matched. Seeing the "Yankee 15" LP in the parking lot echoed " Paulie is in the House". His love for his family was always evident in his repsectful discussion of his parents and you and the children. Paul inspired us to be good friends, good parents , and good spouses. His passion for life will be greatly missed by all those who knew him.

With deep sympathy
