Thomas Dalton Obituary


DANVILLE, Va. - Thomas Byrd Dalton, 74, of 827 Cole St., died Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2006 at Danville Regional Medical Center.
Born Jan. 18, 1932, in Amherst County, he was the son of the late Benjamin Fred Dalton and the late Annie Jennings Dalton.
He was a member of Calvary Baptist church in Edgewood for many years. He most recently attended First Baptist Church on Main Street. He was a self-employed carpenter.
He was formerly married to Nadine Freeman Dalton Boaze, who now lives in Nashville, Tenn.
He is survived by a son, Danny Ray Dalton of Nashville, Tenn.; a daughter, Sandra Tenalio, also of Nashville; two brothers, Richard Dalton of Danville and James W. "Billy" Dalton of Dry Fork; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by one son, Thomas Wayne Dalton; one daughter, Vicki Pope; one brother, Fred L. Dalton; and two sisters.
The graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 26, at Highland Burial Park with the Rev. Thomas Jackson officiating.
The family received friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday at Barker Funeral Home Chapel, 2025 North Main St.
Barker Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
