Ruth Beccue Obituary

Ruth Anna Amanda Beccue, age 85, of Altamont, died at 12:04 a.m., Monday, Nov. 15, 2004, at Anderson Hospital in Maryville.

She was born on Nov. 9, 1919, in Fayette County, near the Bethlehem Community, the daughter of the late Bernard and Sophia Bandelow Winter.

She married Arthur P. Beccue on April 7, 1940, in the Bethlehem Parsonage. He preceded her in death on Feb. 27, 1972.

She is survived by one son, Eugene Beccue, and wife Sheryl, of Lincoln; two daughters, Evelyn Meyer, and husband Mark, of Edwardsville and Carol Lindstrom of Loves Park; a sister-in-law, May Remmert Winter of Tucson, Ariz., 10 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard Winter and Melvin Winter, and his wife Mary Ann Weber Winter; a sister, Evelyn Winter in her infancy and a son-in-law, Mike Lindstrom.

Mrs. Beccue was a member of the Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church and the ladies aid of the church. She was a housewife and was assisted by her late husband in raising a family. After his death, she worked as a janitor and was the head cook for Altamont High School for more than 20 years.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 18, and from 12:30 p.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 19, at Kull Funeral Chapel in Altamont.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 19, at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in Altamont with the Rev. Mitchell Schuessler officiating.

Interment will be in Immanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to the charity of the donor's choice.
