Ronald Eugene Beccue, age 70, of Edgewood, Illinois passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 11, 2025 at St. John's Hospital in Springfield, Illinois.
Funeral service will be at 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 14, 2025 at Pagel Funeral Homes in Edgewood with a two-hour visitation prior to the service. Brenda Byers will be officiating. A private family burial will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to Pagel Funeral Home to offset funeral expenses.
Ronnie was born on July 26, 1954 in Flora, Illinois, the son of Ernest Carl and Bertha E. (Davis) Beccue. He married Becky Caldwell on April 25, 1987 in a front yard ceremony. They shared 43 years together. Ronnie spent most of his life working as a roughneck in the oil fields. He enjoyed going camping and being on the riverbank, listening to his favorite band – The Beatles. But most of all – he loved spending time with his grandkids – they brought so much pride and joy to his life. He was always coming up with some wild story to tell them or show them some new way to get into trouble.
He is survived by his wife, Becky of Edgewood; daughters Kelly (Ron) McConnell of Edgewood, Samantha (Jacob) Cornwell of Louisville, Jessie Beccue and family of Jacksonville, FL; Jeff Beccue of Jacksonville, FL and Josh Crain of Edgewood; grandchildren, Dimitri, Trenton, Damon, Amorah, Kredenc and several others; brothers Rick (Louise) Beccue of Farina, Steve (Jennifer) Beccue of Flora and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Bertha Beccue; grandparents Ernest and Mable Beccue and Jess and Daisy Davis; brothers Bill Beccue and David Beccue; sister Mary Worthey and daughter, Mandy Beccue.
