Over the years, Barb worked at several local businesses, including a skating factory, filling stations, Rural King, and most recently Fedders in Effingham. She also supported her husband's business, Davis Construction, by assisting with secretarial duties. Her employment allowed her to meet many new people, and she enjoyed social interactions.

A lover of nature, Barbara found joy in fishing, hunting, and mushroom hunting. She often took walks through wooded areas with Gail and their beloved dogs. An avid cook, she was known for her exceptional culinary skills. Her diverse interests and warm personality made her a cherished member of her community and family.
