Roger Eugene Sperry, age 84, of Brownstown, Illinois, passed away Friday, January 23, 2026, at the Haven of St Elmo.
Funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 28, 2026 at Pagel Funeral Home, St Elmo, Illinois with visitation two hours prior to the start of service. Masonic rites will be observed. Clayton Richison will be officiating. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery, rural St. Elmo, Illinois. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Altamont Masonic Lodge, Post 533, Shriner’s Hospital or donor’s choice. Online condolences may be left at www.pagelfuneralhome.com
Roger was born April 3, 1941, in Ramsey, Illinois, the son of Cecil O. Sperry and Ellen (Blaylock) Sperry. He married Marjorie Lucille Rhodes on August 1, 1965 at the St. Elmo Methodist Church, St. Elmo, Illinois. Roger was a member of the Altamont Masonic Lodge, Post 533. He enjoyed watching westerns, riding on his tractor, hunting, fishing and spending time with family and friends.
Roger is survived by his wife, Marjorie of Brownstown, Illinois, daughters; Robin (husband, Bernie) Harrison of Pekin, Illinois, Amy (husband, Ed) Stephens of Peoria, Illinois, brother; Gary (wife, Judith) Sperry of Manito, Illinois, daughter in law; Kay Sperry of St. Elmo, Illinois, sister-in-law, Ann Sperry of Galesburg, Illinois, grandchildren; Brian Mans, Bernie Harrison, Cody Sperry, Amanda Moreland, Ted Moreland, Ben Sperry, and Sam Sperry, 14 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Roger was preceded in death by his parents, son; Dale Sperry, brother; Maurice (Moe) Sperry, sisters; Shirley Curry and Aileen Tinker.
