Preston James Beccue, age 22, of St. Elmo, Illinois passed away on Thursday, March 28, 2024 at Carle Hospital in Urbana, Illinois.
Funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, April 5, 2024 Altamont First Baptist Church with a visitation two-hours prior to the service. David Russell will be officiating. Preston was born on October 16, 2001 in Effingham, Illinois, the son of Timothy J. Beccue and Alison M. Cameron. In his younger years, he was a member of the Effingham Police Explorers and continued doing ride-a-longs with the Altamont and St. Elmo police departments in his most recent years. He loved animals, playing guitar, listening to music, and being with his family. Preston was known for being a prankster, especially to his grandma. He loved going to different restaurants and had a special love for Italian and Mexican foods, his mom's chili, and desserts. From the moment Preston was born, he had shown that he was wise beyond his years. Preston's final act of kindness was to give the gift of life through organ and tissue donation, saving three lives.
He is survived by his parents, Tim Beccue of Brownstown and Alison Cameron of St. Elmo; maternal grandma, Loretta "Letty" Cameron of St. Elmo; uncles, Casey Cameron of St. Elmo, Steve Beccue (Deanna) of Mason, David Beccue (Mark) of Minneapolis, Lyle Beccue of Mason, Greg Beccue (Tiffany) of Mason, Daniel Beccue of Mason ; aunts, Diana Beccue (Dawn) of O'Fallon, Missouri, Rachael Beccue (Sara) of Brownstown, Mandy Beccue (late Shane) of Effingham; and several cousins.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandpa, Tracy "Short" Cameron; paternal grandparents, Donald and Carolyn (Seibert) Beccue; maternal great-grandma, Goldie Harris; cousin, Christopher Beccue; aunt, Karen Beccue.
