Steven Fensterman Obituary

Steven M. Fensterman, age 46, of Wood River, died at 2:17 a.m. on Tuesday, June 15, 2004, at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis.

He was born on April 30, 1958, in St. Louis, the son of the late Jack and Wilda McKeal Fensterman.

He married Melinda Lanter on June 8, 1996, in Litchfield. She survives.

Also surviving are two sons: Christian Fensterman of Ohio, and Zachariah Fensterman of Wood River; three daughters: Gillian, Paige and Olivia Fensterman, all of Wood River, and one on the way in September; a brother: John Fensterman and wife, Donna of Coffeen; two sisters: Carole Farmer and husband, Bob of Greenville, and Jacqueline Arrington of Florida; his mother-in-law: Carole Lanter of Raymond; two sisters-in-law: Rebecca Lanter of Edwardsville, and Jennifer Savage and husband, Mark of Canton, Ga.; and special family friend: Ann Ritz of Edwardsville.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law: Jack Lanter.

Mr. Fensterman was a revenue agent for the Internal Revenue Service for 20 years, retiring in 1999. He was an avid reader, enjoyed traveling, hunting, fishing and working on cars, and coaching soccer and softball.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, June 17, at Marks Mortuary in Wood River.

Funeral services will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, June 18, at the funeral home with Rev. Walter McCaslin officiating.

Per the decedent's request, his remains will be cremated.

Memorials are suggested to the charity of donor's choice.
