Steven Suhre Obituary
Steve was born on September 4, 1973 in Alton, the beloved son of Larry and Nancy (Giacomelli) Suhre.
In addition to his parents, Steve is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Amanda Suhre, his treasured nephews and niece, Drew, Ryan and Ally Suhre, all of Edwardsville, and a special cousin, Clay Hanvey of Alhambra.
Steve is also survived by aunts Virginia Ulett of Rosewood Heights, Janet (Michael) Unruh of Decatur, and DeArle (Maurice) Sanderson of Chester. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Wilbur and Ida Suhre, maternal grandparents Louis and Helen Giacomelli, and by a very special aunt, Gail (Giacomelli) Hanvey.
A lifelong resident of the Edwardsville area, Steve was a 1991 graduate of Edwardsville High School. He attended McMurray College in Jacksonville, IL and McKendree University in Lebanon, IL, where he studied journalism.
Steve took great pleasure in the company of his family, including family dinners and birthday parties, going to movies with his Mom, time spent with his late Aunt Gail, and being with his niece and nephews, which often included golf cart rides accompanied by a menagerie of pets. He had a love of animals, particularly his dog, Wilson, and his cats, Bosley, Murphy, Cecil and Sanford, and was an ardent supporter of Partners for Pets and animal rights.
Following a private visitation and graveside service, Steve was interred at Sunset Hills Memorial Estates in Glen Carbon. Weber & Rodney Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
