ABELARDO "A.C." GODINES

SAN ANGELO - A.C. (Abelardo) Godines, 81, of San Angelo, Texas, passed away on Jan. 4, 2009, in San Angelo, Texas. Rosary will be 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 6, in Robert Massie Riverside Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 7, at St. Joseph Catholic Church with the Rev. Quirino Cornejo officiating. Burial will follow in Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are by Robert Massie Funeral Home. A.C. was born Brownsville, Texas, to Hilario and Elena Godines on June 8, 1927. He went to school in San Angelo, Texas. He married Helen Lopez on May 27, 1949, in San Angelo, Texas. He graduated from San Angelo College (ASU). He worked as Q A for SESCO for 26 years. He served in the Air Force and was awarded the World War II Victory Medal. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. A.C. is preceded in death by Helen Lopez Godines, spouse of 51 years and Mary Ann Godines-Calderon, daughter. He is survived by sons, John and Sevilla Godines of Abilene, Texas, Robert Godines of San Angelo, Texas, Manuel and Alejandra Godines of San Angelo, Texas, Michael Godines and Jane Madrid of Abilene, Texas, Rudy and Dolores Godines-Perez, daughter; Thomas and Felipa Rico, sister, Brownsville, Texas; and Estevan Godines, brother, Corpus Christi, Texas. A.C. proudly has nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Robert Andrew Godines, Anthony Godines, Ronnie Carrasco, Tony Lopez III, Juan Varquera Jr. and David Ramirez. Honorary pallbearers are John Godines, Jr. and John Torres. The family of A.C.
