Billy Blair Obituary
Robert Lee
Billy J. Blair, 84, went to be with his Lord and Savior Sunday, Oct. 25, 2015.
Billy J. Blair was born to Jeff Davis Blair and Thelma Daniel Blair on Dec. 24, 1930, in Sterling County. Shortly after his birth, his family moved to Robert Lee, where he attended school and was a star athlete, graduating in 1949.
On July 12, 1950 he married his high school sweetheart, Eula Fay Smith and they recently celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary. To this union three children, Roy Blair, Linda Blair Porter and Billy J. Blair Jr. were born.
Bill spent his life working in the oil fields and as a rancher.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his infant son, Billy J. Blair Jr.; two brothers, J.D. Blair Jr. and Don Blair.
He is survived by his loving wife, Eula Fay Blair; son Roy Blair and wife Judy; daughter Linda Blair Porter and husband Jack; two sisters, Edith McGinley and Ruth Weimer; two brothers, Dan and his wife, Lennie and Jerry; five grandchildren, Tracie Corley and her husband, Barry, Joe Blair and his wife, Daisy, Amy Porter, Russell Porter and his wife, Jennifer and Christopher Porter; and 13 great-grandchildren and another due in January.
There will be open visitation on Saturday, Oct. 31, 2015, at Shaffer Funeral Home in Robert Lee. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, November 1, 2015, at Robert Lee Baptist Church followed by a graveside service in Robert Lee Cemetery. Rev. Danny White will be officiating the service. Services are under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home.

Bill was a good and honorable man. I know of no higher praise that could offered to anyone. I knew him and admired his character for over half a century. He will be missed. My condolences to the family.
