JOHNNIE ABBOTT Obituary
Johnnie Ladelle Abbott died Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2001, at Baptist Memorials Center. She was born Aug. 22, 1908, in Proctor, Texas, to Moore and Ethel Chilcoat. She was married to Barton Abbott on Dec. 3, 1928. Ladelle was preceded in death by her husband, Barton; daughter, Billye Meryl Abbott; son, Don Abbott; daughter-in-law, Joyce Abbott; and sisters, Estelle McLain, Bettye Killingsworth, Ethel Mae Ratliff and Mayre Jo Chilcoat. Survivors include her son, Lynn Abbott of San Angelo and his children, Vicki Walter and husband, Keith, Bob Abbott, Jean Taylor and husband, Dennis, Mauri Buckner, Greg Stevens and wife, Tammy, Scott Stevens, Joyce Abbott; son, Larry Abbott and wife, Rita, of San Angelo and their children, Kyle Abbott, Tobin Abbott and wife, Tanya, Amy Moore and husband, Eddie, Sterling Abbott and wife, Susan; daughter-in-law, Dolly Abbott of San Angelo and her children, Mickey Abbott and wife, Pam, Danny Abbott and wife, Kenya, Terrye Ferguson and husband, Rob; daughter, Patsy Porter and husband, Bob, of San Angelo and their children, Pam Enna and husband, Joe, Leslie Bell and husband, Ronnie, Jill Fulks and husband, Denny, Bob Porter and wife, Nancy, Bonnie Kirby and husband, Adrian, John Porter and wife, Penny; sisters, Connell Houston of Spur, Texas, Chrys Fannin and husband, Wyndel, of Amarillo, Texas, Dorothy Thomason and husband, J.W., of Spur, Gaye Barclay and husband, Daret, of Napa, Calif.; brother, John B. Chilcoat and wife, Frances, of Know City, Texas; along with 30 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Ladelle was a homemaker and a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She was a longtime member of Park Heights Baptist Church. Service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 7, in Johnson's Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. James Miller of The Heights Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Fairmount Cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Kyle Abbott, Tobin Abbott, Sterling Abbott, Mickey Abbott, Danny Abbott and Eddie Moore. The family wishes to express its thanks to Sherry and Division I staff at Baptist Memorials Center, Dr. Hunt and VistaCare Family Hospice for their care and support. Ladelle Abbott was a wonderful, loving, serving and caring woman who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
