JUAN IBARRA Obituary

SAN ANGELO - Juan Florentino Ibarra Jr., son, brother, father, and uncle, was called to serve our Lord in Heaven in the early hours of Friday, Dec. 12, 2008, at his residence in San Angelo. Juanito was a happy, beautiful person who loved God, life, and his family. He was the brightest light in the room and he shared his smile generously. To his sister, Delilah, he was a best friend. Juanito was part of a large family and is survived by his father, Juan Florentino Ibarra Sr.; mother Josephine Ibarra; stepfather Tony Barrera I; sisters Delilah and Vanessa Ibarra; brother Tony Barrera II; the love of his life, Lupe Prieto; daughters Savanna and Briana Prieto; nieces Naloni Hall, Alyssa and Mia Barrera, and Mikayla Austin; nephews KeVann Coney, Isaiah Hall and King Anthony Barrera; maternal grandparents Margaret and Amando Moreno; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was met in Heaven by paternal grandparents Ofelia R. Ibarra and Eugene Romero, who love him very much. Rosary will be held Sunday, Dec. 14, at 7 p.m. at Johnson's Funeral Home. Memorial service is set for Monday, Dec. 15, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. He will be laid to rest in Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Tony Barrera II, KeVann Marquess De'Mond Coney, Cruz Moreno, Simon Perez Garcia, Polito Herrera and Joe Garcia. Honorary pallbearers will be Nando Garcia, Arthur Aguirre, Jr., Michael Herrera, and Moses Arredondo. "Don't drown in your sorrows, swim in them ~ that's what I always do." Juan F. Ibarra, Jr. (Chuco) We will miss how hard you loved, your compassion, and you're giving ways, and you will live in our hearts always.

I know you don't remember me, but I remember you. I was your parents neighbor on Washington Drive. In fact I remember when you were born and when your parents brought you home. Back in the day everyone called you Juanito. To the Ibarra family: I was deeply sorry to hear about your loss. Sylvester, Pee Wee, Steve and I send our condolences. Our prayers are with you during this difficult time.

Juanito, I can see you clear like it was yesterday, sitting in my livingroom with my son and friends, laughing so hard we had tears running down our face. Then you took the mic and started rapping, sounded like a pro to me! Your yes maam no maam,so polite. I always ask your Mom for you, your smile could light up a dark night and your laughter was so contagious. You will be greatly missed!!

Juanito, I can't believe you have left this Earth. I know that you are in heaven, entertaining your family and friends with your silly jokes and bright personality. I will never forget the days of me you and Delilah watching House Party over and over until we had the words memorized and the bad haircut I gave you that you didn't complain about. You were such a beautiful and loving person, so unselfish that even when times were rough, you put on a smile and knew how to cheer everyone else up. Delilah, you are all in my prayers-if God measures a person's kingdom by their heart, Juanito has to have a castle beyond belief! All my love, Cassandra
