MARTIN JONES Obituary
OZONA - Martin Brock Jones III of Alpine, Texas, died on Friday, June 22, 2007, at Midland Memorial Hospital, after a long struggle with complications from diabetes. Brock was born July 9, 1968, in Austin. He attended Westlake schools until 1981, when he moved to the family ranch in Crockett County. Brock graduated from Ozona High School in 1986. He attended Texas AandM University and was scheduled to graduate from Sul Ross State University in August 2007. He had been admitted to graduate school at Sul Ross and would have begun work on his master's degree this fall. Brock had many interests and accomplishments during his lifetime. He was a lifelong member of the Ozona United Methodist Church and served as chairman of the church board. Brock was an avid lover of music and history. He also had a passion for cooking that was shared with all of his friends and family. Brock spent many wonderful years living and enjoying family gatherings at the ranch. He was blessed by many dedicated and dear friends in Ozona and Alpine. He loved life, his family and West Texas. Brock is survived by his wife, Isabel Fornelli-Jones of Alpine; his son, Martin Brock Jones IV of Ozona; his parents, Brock and Camille Jones of Ozona; his sister, Margaret Riquelmy, and her husband, Josh, of Alpine; and Tamara, David, and Coulter McWilliams of Ozona. Aunts and uncles include Johnny and Patty Jones of Ozona, Randy and Elizabeth Upham of Ozona, and Gary and Jane Garlitz of Midland. Great-aunts and uncle are Reba Jones of Houston, and Will and Mary McKenny, also of Houston. Numerous loving cousins and friends survive him. Arrangements for services have been made through Preddy Funeral Home in Ozona for 11 a.m. Monday, June 25 at the Ozona United Methodist Church with burial to follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery. Memorials can be made to the American Diabetes Association, the Sul Ross State University Center for Historical Research for Big Bend Studies, or the Ozona United Methodist Church roofing project.
