Patsy Edwards Obituary

Patsy (Patricia) Tyler Edwards

Mansfield

Mrs. Patsy (Patricia) Tyler Edwards passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2017, surrounded by family and friends at her residence in Mansfield, Texas.

Memorials: In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Patsy's favorite charity, Relocation Rescue, 3604 Travis County Circle, Austin, Texas 78735.

Patsy graduated high school from San Angelo, Texas in 1953. She married Will P. (Buddo) Edwards in 1956. She was active in St. Mary's Episcopal Church in Big Spring, Texas and was also an avid member of the West Texas Wing of the Confederate Air Force for many years, being commissioned as a "Lady Colonel" in 1980. She helped organize a World War II type USO Troupe which performed extensively at various air shows across the country. She was a member of The Experimental Aircraft Association and The Eagle Squadron of The Warbirds of America. Patsy loved the ballet, the opera and was an avid bridge player up until 3 years ago. Patsy had a deep love for pets and worried about every single one that was in the shelters. She will be dearly missed by many.

For Patsy's 80th birthday, she gathered those closest to her for a wonderful celebration including her niece, Patricia (Pze) Edwards and nephew, Nick Edwards, Connie and Brenda Edwards and her special friends and companions, Karen (former sister-in-law) and Johnny Johnson.

Having lived for 82 years, Patsy outlived many of her family and friends including her parents, Bill and LaRue Tyler of San Angelo, Texas and the love of her life, Will P. (Buddo) Edwards and her nephew Wilson C. (Tex) Edwards, Jr.

Brother-in-law, Wilson C. (Connie) Edwards and wife, Brenda; nephew, Nick Edwards; niece, Patricia (Pze) Edwards; and an extended family living throughout West Texas.

My grandparents lived down the street from the Taylors'. I remember Patsy's bedroom. I always thought she was a princess!!! Thick carpet, princess phone, her own entrance to her bedroom, etc. When she got married, I remember sitting on her bed on Live Oak counting her rings......23-24-25, etc. Lots. I have tried to get in touch with her for about three years. I didn't know where she was.
I did visit with her when she was in Granbury. Lots of great memories. My aunt is Lynn Sturges. LaRue worked at Sturges' after Bill died. I am now 69!!! a baby. Would love to get in touch with the closest of kin.
