PAUL GOLDING Obituary
SAN SABA - Paul W. Golding, 79, of San Saba, Texas, passed away Friday, Dec. 13, 2002, in Brownwood, Texas. He was born Sept. 21, 1923, in Dublin, Texas, the son of T.P. Golding and Florence Bowden Golding. Paul served in the 9th Airborne Division of the Air Force in World War II. He served overseas for two years in the European Theater where he participated in the Battle of the Bulge and the Normandy Beach invasion. On Oct. 19, 1946, Paul W. Golding and Neleva Funderburk were married in San Saba, where they made their home. He was a member of the congregation of the Second and Wallace Street Church of Christ where he was a deacon. He served as past president of the San Saba County Chamber of Commerce, served on the San Saba City Council for several years and was a former member of the Lion's Club. For 57 years, Paul was an active Ford dealer in his family business, Golding Motors, where he received countless awards issued by the Ford Motor Company, including the following: Distinguished Achievement Awards, seven North American Customer Excellence Awards, and for five years in a row, he received the President's Award, which is the highest award given. He is survived by his wife, Neleva Golding of San Saba; one son, Kenneth Golding and his wife, Lisa, of San Saba; four granddaughters, Aungelique Golding, Bre'Anne Golding and Taylor Golding, all of San Saba, and Kjisten Morrison of Nacogdoches, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents. Pallbearers will be Norris McCarty, John Reavis, Danny Hammond, Ron Sanderson, Mike Miles and Edward Ragsdale. Honorary pallbearers will be Max Mahan, Dwight McDaniel, Bill Wilder, Kenneth Bailey and Randy Mitchael. The family requests that memorials be made to the donor's favorite charity. The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 15 at the funeral home. Funeral service for Paul W. Golding will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 16 at the 2nd and Wallace Church of Christ with John Shero, James Vinzant and Haskell England officiating. Interment will follow in the San Saba City Cemetery.

I have known Paul and the Golding family all my life. Paul's easy going way and kindness will be greatly missed by all who knew him. My thoughts and prayers are with Kenneth and Neleva. God Bless.
