Walter Portugal Obituary
is a very loved man. Walter passed away on April 19, 2013 at the age of 60. He will be missed greatly by the love of his life, his wife Dianne G. Portugal, his six sons
Chris, Mike, David, Shawn, Jesse, Joel; and his family and friends. "Enjoy heaven babies, can't wait to join you. Love your Bubbas, your love, your wife." At his request, no formal services will be held. Green Acres Glendale Mortuary entrusted with arrangements.

I knew Walter when both of us were new to the foursquare church in Prescott. He was a few years older than I was, and to me, a musical icon. To me he was in the same league as John Lennon and Paul McCartney, so I was too frightened to even speak to him. -Kim

Thank you all for showing my dad love, he cared about so many people, his goal was preaching about eternal life through salvation in Christ. It near fathers day and I miss ya Dad.

I know it is 2017 I was looking for a song the group Eden used to do called shady tree or something like that and ran across this obituary I am so sorry and sad to hear of Walter's passing, I used to baby sit for Chrissy for Walter and Lee when they lived in Prescott my name was Debbie. Sure am praying for you and sorry I didn't know before God bless and take care

Walter touched many lives. We are blessed to have known him and heard the gospel from him. We all lost much when Diane took him away from us. You are with the Lord now Walter. I know it to be a better place.

A beautiful soul and a true psalmist for sure! It was his music that touched my heart as a young flower child turned to Christ. He touched a generation with his amazing gift of music. See you at the great celebration in the sky... You'll be playing bass, I am sure of it!

Walter,
We were competing bands back in the early days of 1966; You and Ron in the VIP's; Me, Rod, Bill, Dan and Nick Conrad in the Centries. Then we played in the same band and we had great memories, playing and making a record. Rest in peace; you will always be in our memories.

I am so sorry to hear of Walter's death but I am comforted that He is resting with the Lord. He was a strong positive influence on me in my early walk with the Lord. He was the leader of the coffeehouse ministry in Germany where I received Christ as Savior. His calm, quiet, dignified manner was always an inspiration. His ability to teach the Scriptures was only surpassed by the incredibly beautiful music that came from him and his guitar. I lost contact with Walt over the years but never have lost my appreciation of him. I look forward to time with him in eternity.
