Jacqueline Heibel

Heibel, Jacqueline Mrs. Jacqueline Heibel (Haskins), age 84 of Grand Rapids, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Friday January 25, 2019. She was preceded in death by her parents Roy and May, and sisters Janet Haskins, Joan Velting, and MariLou Velting. Surviving are: her husband of 65 years Gene; children Mark (Andrea) Heibel, Michael (Maryann) Heibel, Linda Heibel, and Joseph (Michele) Heibel; six grandchildren; sisters Beverly (Freal) Reyner, Betty (Robert) Perks, Grace Jones; in-laws Robert Heibel, Donald (Linda) Heibel, Larry (Joy) Heibel, Terrie Heibel, Madeline Heibel, Thomas (Cath) Heibel. Jackie, a lifelong Westsider, was the most gentle and kind individual who lived by the motto "People are more important than things." She loved teaching her grandchildren that it is ok to color outside the lines and be messy, especially in creating masterpieces to hang on the refrigerator. She was devoted to her Faith, her family, and trips to the casino. She experienced many trips to exotic locations with her daughter, Linda. She has left a lasting impression and will be missed by many. She was a mainstay at the Blodgett Hospital switchboard and community relations for over 25 years. She was a founding member of the Union High School Football Moms and was awarded Supermom in 1982 by the team. Gene and Jackie's love and dedication to each other is an inspiration to all who knew them. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 AM Tuesday January 29 at St. Anthony of Padua Church where she will repose one hour prior to Mass. Her family will receive visitors Monday January 28 from 5 to 8 PM at the Arsulowicz Brothers Remembrance Mortuary, 3525 Remembrance Rd NW, where a Rosary will be prayed at 7:30 PM. Memorial donations to St. Anthony's Education Fund will be appreciated.
