Richard Hieshetter

Richard Hieshetter, 78, originally from Grand Rapids, Michigan passed away at Complete Care at St. Vincent's in Cedar Grove, NJ on August 11, 2025 after a long illness. Rich is survived by his sister-in-law Joanne Brechting Hieshetter, his nephews Matthew (Kristin) of Florence, SC and Nicholas (Julie) of Weymouth, MA, great nieces and a great nephew, many cousins and his long-time friend Roseanne. Rich was predeceased by his parents Ernest and Constance Hieshetter and his brother David Hieshetter.

Rich graduated from The Ohio State University with a BS in Landscape Architecture and remained a loyal Buckeye fan. As a landscape architect he worked for the New York State Department of Transportation in New York City and commuted from Pennsylvania. He was also an avid golf player, fan, and golf course designer. When he travelled, he always played golf wherever he was. He was involved in golf his whole life and he achieved his greatest dream of visiting St. Andrews and playing the Old Course.

Interment will be at Resurrection Cemetery in Grand Rapids. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated in Grand Rapids at a future date. Condolences for the family can be sent to the funeral home.
