Lois Marie Bendix

1941 - 2025

Lois Marie Bendix, 83, of Grand Rapids, MN, passed away May 22, 2025.

She was born Lois Marie Hibler in Ely, MN in 1941, to George and Agnes Hibler.

After high school, she graduated from Minnesota School of Business. Lois married Tony Laugen and had two wonderful girls. She lived most of her life in Grand Rapids, MN where she worked for the State of Minnesota Department of Rehabilitation Services for over 30 years.

Lois loved spending time with family and friends, gardening and being on the lakes. She was very active in her community volunteering for the Arts Commission, Orchestra, Showboat, Free Range Food Coop, church and many others.

She is survived by daughters; Linda (Bryon) Hornick and Terri (Lisa) Laugen; Sister, Judi (Jim) Strege, brother, Karl Hibler; nephews and niece, Jacob (Deb), Jason (Karey), and Jessica Strege; great nieces and nephew, Isabelle Strege, Abby Strege, and Cade Strege; grandchildren, Ryan Laugen, Shyranda Hornick, Shamara Hornick; great grandchildren, Colton Laugen, Everett Gitter, Vienna Gitter; granddogs; Tucker, Harley and Cooper; grandcats, Oreo and Squeaker. Preceded in death by her parents, and sister-in-law Debbe Hibler.

A memorial service will be at St. Andrews Church, Grand Rapids, MN on Wednesday May 28, 2025, at 11am. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to memorial service.

Donations to St. Andrews Church in lieu of flowers would be greatly appreciated.
