WILLIAM HERMANN CHARLES "WILL" BENDIX

1948 - 2023

William Hermann Charles Bendix was born on May 17, 1948, in Frankfurt, Germany, to Charlie and Marion Bendix. His family moved around until they settled in California. He had two siblings, Thilo and Marsha.
He graduated from Downey High School in 1966, then joined the Air Force and shipped off to Vietnam. When he returned home, he attended Columbia College, became an electrician in Sonora and has kept his strong ties here throughout his life. His daughter, Lauren, was born here, and his son was born in the second place he called home in San Diego. He was very active in his veterans group and the Rotary club.
Will is survived by his first wife, Emily Chavez; his second wife, Lynn, and their children, Lauren and Scotty; his daughter-in-law, Katie; grandchildren Lily Lee and Tylo Willam Bendix; his brother Thilo; sister, Lili; and all their relatives.
Will was preceded in death by his father, Charles; his mother, Marion; his sister-in-law, Lucille; and his wife, Barbra Kerr.
A celebration of life will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 26 at Calvary Chapel, 19889 Soulsbyville Road, Soulsbyville, CA 95372. A reception with snacks and beverages will follow.
