Glenn Bratcher Obituary


Glenn E."P-nut" Bratcher, 78, of Leitchfield, died Tuesday, Jan.12, 2016, at Norton Hospital in Louisville.

He was born on July 14, 1937, in Louisville. He was the son of Estill and Hazel Ford Bratcher.

Glenn was a member and deacon of First Baptist Church of Leitchfield. He graduated from Clarkson High School, Class of 1955, then began work at Mid-Valley Pipeline. He began work at Ford Motor Co. in Louisville in December 1964, and retired after 30 years of service in September 1994.

Glenn was an avid hunter and fisherman, a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. He loved his family dearly.

He is survived by his wife, Laverne Willis Bratcher;son Kevin Bratcher (Regina) of Leitchfield; daughter-in-law Patty Bratcher of Leitchfield; grandsons Ryan Bratcher (Erin) of Leitchfield and Seth Bratcher (Sierra) of Smiths Grove; great-grandson Hunter Bratcher; sister Faye Lively (Charles) of Florida; brother Eugene Bratcher (Pauline) of Clarkson; and several nieces, nephews and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son Keith Bratcher; and two brothers, Larry and Roy Bratcher.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 16, at the First Baptist Church in Leitchfield Family Life Center. Burial will be in Leitchfield Memory Gardens.

Visitation will be Thursday, Jan. 14 from 4 to 8 p.m. and Friday, Jan. 15 from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. at at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield, and from 9:30 a.m. until time of services Saturday at the First Baptist Church of Leitchfield Family Life Center.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Leitchfield First Baptist Church Bus Fund.
