Ann McLain Obituary

Ann McLain

Havre —Ann Theresa McLain, 101, longtime resident of Havre, Montana, was called by her Lord to eternal happiness, early Easter morning, Sunday, April 5, 2015, at Northern Montana Care Center. Prayer Vigil will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, April 10, 2015 at St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church in Havre with Deacon Tim Maroney officiating. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 11, 2015, at St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church with Father Daniel Wathen officiating. Burial will be held at Highland Cemetery. Her family has suggested that memorial donations be made to The Catholic Daughters of Havre. Holland & Bonine Funeral Home has been entrusted with services and arrangements. Please visit Ann's online memorial page and leave a message of condolence for her family at www.hollandbonine.com.

Ann was born on Dec. 15, 1913, in Ilasco, Missouri to George and Anna (Surean) Bolta. Her family relocated to Montana to a homestead north of Havre before moving to town. Ann attended St. Jude's elementary school and graduated from Havre High School, later she worked as a clerk at F.A. Buttrey Company of Havre.

On June 4, 1938 she married Woodrow B. (Mac) McLain in Havre at St. Jude Catholic Church. They both loved square dancing and having active roles in their church activities and groups. One of her many joys were that she and her family were able to reside adjacent to her parents for many years until their passing. Her beloved Mac was called home to his Heavenly Father in 1994.

Ann celebrated her 101st birthday with family and friends last December. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and visiting with all her friends. The many family calls, cards and visits to her home, and excellent care giving, helped to encourage her long life. Ann was especially proud of and cherished all her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and her great-great-grandchildren. She was a member of The Catholic Daughters of Havre. She will be deeply missed by all.

Ann was preceded in death by her soul mate Woodrow (Mac) McLain; her parents, George and Anna Bolta; her granddaughter Tammy (Peterson) McLaughlin; her two sisters, Keva Symes and Mary McCain; her three brothers, Nicholas Bolta, John Bolta and George Bolta Jr.

She is survived by her sons, Greg McLain of Richland, WA, Frank McLain of Havre, MT, and John McLain (Carolyn Peterson) of Carson City, NV; her daughters, Bernadette McLain of Lynwood, WA and Mary Ann (Ira) Peterson of Great Falls; her sister Elena Clontiz of Havre, Mt; and her precious 13 grandchildren, 25 great- grandchildren and her 2 great- great- grandchildren, numerous beloved cousins, nieces and nephews.
