Kevin Floerchinger Obituary

KEVIN THOMAS FLOERCHINGER

CONRAD —Kevin Thomas Floerchinger, 64, of Conrad, an Air Force veteran, electrical engineer, and beloved family member and friend, passed away on Monday, Jan 4 at the Pondera Medical Center.

He was born in Conrad on Feb. 22, 1951 to Thomas and Margaret "Peggy" (Sanderson) Floerchinger. Kevin spent his childhood working alongside his dad on the beloved family farm.

As a young man, Kevin was a "jack of all trades" and worked on an ambulance crew, as a mechanic, a truck driver, and a missileer in the United States Air Force, where "perfection is the goal." In 1983, he completed his Bachelor of Engineering from the Northern Montana College in Havre. While attaining his degree Kevin found his true calling in aerospace engineering and landed his first job at Hughes Aircraft in Tucson, Arizona where he worked as project manager on key contracts like the laser-guided minuteman missile. He successfully maintained a balance between his family and work, while completing his Master of Business Administration at the University of Phoenix. His passion and drive continued throughout his life and led to other contracts at progressive aerospace companies, working on groundbreaking projects like the lead on developing the battery power supply on our early warning satellite system and contracts with NASA launching satellites, culminating with his work in renewable energy. His work took him to live in various locations including Montana, Michigan, Arizona, Florida and Colorado and various business trips all over the United States and England.

He was an avid aviator and flew private planes. He also had a love for the outdoors, including fly fishing, riding motorcycles and camping. He was also a member of a Barbershop Quartet Choir.

Kevin is survived by daughters: Tanya Anderson (Trina) of Florida, Lara Rowlands (Mike) of Georgia, Stacy Weaver (James) of California and step-daughter Kathryn Kotas (Zachary) of Colorado; and son Adam Floerchinger of Arizona and step-son, Joseph Dai III, MD (Jennifer) of Maryland. He is also survived by his; fourteen grandchildren, his mother Margaret Floerchinger, sisters: Julia (Boone) Timmerman of Dutton and Heather Martin of Virginia, his brother-in-law Larry Martin of Conrad, uncle and aunts: William and Margaret Floerchinger of Alaska, Mary Pourroy of Conrad; numerous nephews and nieces who he was especially close to as well as friends he considered extended family. His wife, Cynthia MacArgel and father, Thomas Floerchinger preceded him in death.

Private family and close friend services are being held where Kevin's ashes will be laid to rest at the Conrad Memorial Cemetery close to his father, Thomas Floerchinger. A portion of his ashes will also be spread at his favorite fishing hole.
