Kevin Marquis Obituary

CASCADE - Kevin Harvey Marquis, 38, of Cascade, a contractor, died in a car crash Tuesday west of Ovando.
Visitation is 1 to 6 p.m. today at Schnider Funeral Home. His funeral is 3 p.m. Monday at the Cascade High School gym, with burial in Ulm Cemetery.
Kevin was born in Great Falls on Nov. 3, 1970, to Harvey and Loretta (Sallee) Marquis. He was raised in the Ulm Bible Church and currently attended Westside Baptist Church in Great Falls.
He graduated in 1989 from Cascade High School, where he maintained a very high grade point average.
Kevin married the love of his life, Lorie Marie Brown, on Feb. 1, 1992, at Ulm Bible Church, and the Lord blessed them with four beautiful children whom he loved very much.
Following graduation from high school, he worked for Hilde Construction at various sites in Wyoming and Montana. He then worked at Speedy Auto Glass for a couple of years.
In 1993, he ventured into business with his brother, Cory. They owned and operated Purity Seed Co. in Ulm, raised cattle and developed land. Thinking they were not busy enough, they started Marquis Excavating with their father, Harvey. At the time of his death, Kevin was contracting with the Rolling Dog Ranch, building barns and outbuildings for the animals.
Kevin enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and snowmobiling with his family, and almost anything else, as long as it was outside and with his family. He also had a special place in his heart for his dog, Lexi.
He volunteered his time at the Great Falls Rescue Mission. His parents, grandparents and family were very proud of his accomplishments. He worked very hard for his family and they loved him very much. Kevin will be greatly missed and thought of every day. His family is looking forward to the day that they will meet him in heaven.
Kevin is now at peace in the arms of Jesus, his Lord and Savior.
Survivors include his soul mate and wife Lorie Marquis of Cascade; four beautiful children, Sadie, Tyrel, Treyton and Sheyla, all of Cascade; parents Harvey and Loretta Marquis of Ulm; brothers Cory (Beckie) Marquis of Raynesford, and Calob Marquis of Ulm; sisters Kristin Marquis of Ulm, Carrie (Cody) Moe and Katie Marquis, all of Great Falls, and Caressa (Bruce) Shettel of Lewistown; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Gloyd and Thelma Sallee, and William and Elna Marquis; a brother Casey; and a sister, Kalee.
Memorials are suggested to an educational fund for his children at Prairie Mountain Bank, 1019 7th St. S., Great Falls, MT 59405.

Lorie, Sadie, Tyrel, Treyton, Sheyla, and to the rest of the Marquis Family,

Kevin was such a special friend to us. Jim and Heather thought of him as a brother that neither one of us had and Lane and Savannah will never forget their "Uncle Kevin" as they've always known him. Please know that he will never be forgotten and will always hold a special place in our hearts. Jim will always have the fond hunting and snowmobiling memories, Savannah will always remember the big hug he always gave her, and Lane will always remember the times he took him fishing! The times right now are rough, but know that you will be together with him again in heaven.

We love you,

Julie Birkenbuel

Dear Loretta, Harvey and family...Lorie and family,

Our love and prayers are with you all as you grieve the loss of dear Kevin.
Psalm 61:1-4 "Hear my cry, O God: listen to my prayer. From the ends of the earth will I cry out to you, when my heart is overwhelmed, please lead me to the rock that is higher than I. For you have been my refuge, a strong tower against the foe. I long to dwell in your tent forever and take refuge in the shelter of your wings."
Our prayer is that the Almighty God will be your refuge during this trying time. We know you have a strong hope and faith, but your heart is breaking, so we lift you to Jesus. May you find peace in Him!

With our heartfelt love and prayers,

Erica Filipowicz

To Lorie & The Marquis Family,
Kevin was more than a customer he was a friend. We often talked more about our families than we did about work, it was easy to tell that his priorities were always in the right place. He will be greatly missed by all. My sincere condolences.

Lori and kids,
We were so fortunate to have spent time with Kevin this Spring while he and Guy were working at our house, Wynell and I looked forward to every day of meeting them at lunchtime to see their progress and beautiful work on our house. Guy stayed here in his camper and we had many evenings visiting and doing a few extra projects together. Both were extraordinary men who had great work, family, and community ethic and true faith. Kevin was the greatest father, husband, friend, and nephew! We miss him terribly. We love you!

To the entire Marquis Family,

I have many fond memories of Kevin growing up in Ulm. From his days at the Ulm Bible Church to the days when he and Cory would help their dad build cars in their garage. Later in life as he and his brother had the seed plant, their construction company and the cattle operation. He was like a little brother. Most importantly though was his faith and devotion to his Lord and Savior and his family. Kevin will be deeply missed, however I know that one day I will see him again on the Streets of Glory. To the entire Marquis family we will continue to keep you in our prayers in the time ahead.

Psalm 71:20-21
Though you have made me see troubles, many and bitter, you will restore my life again; from the depths of the earth you will again bring me up. You will increase my honor and comfort me once again.

May God give you the peace that surpasses all understanding. We love you!
