Margaret Taylor Obituary

CHINOOK - Margaret (O'Brien) Taylor, 84, died of natural causes Wednesday at Sweetwater Retirement Community in Billings.
Cremation has taken place. A rosary is 7 p.m. Thursday with a celebration of life at 1 p.m. Friday at St. Gabriel's Church in Chinook. Arrangements are by Smith Funeral Chapel of Billings and Edwards Funeral Home of Chinook.
Margaret was born in Chinook to Thomas and Edna O'Brien on February 22, 1925. She was raised and educated in Chinook, Mont. and graduated in 1943. Margaret worked for various banks in Portland, San Diego, Havre and Chinook during the World War II era. She met her lifelong husband, E.S "Ternie" Taylor in 1946, and they married on April 3, 1948. Born to this union were five children, Margaret Mary, David, Michael, Leanne, and Mark.
Margaret gladly accepted the job of being a full-time mom. Most important to Margaret was her family and her faith. Margaret took pride in her home, cooking, and always liked to "look her best." Her children and grandchildren were the highlights of her life. She spent many hours gardening and canning her harvest every year to share with many. She donated much of her time to St. Gabriel's Parish in Chinook, especially the Altar Society.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; first daughter, Margaret Mary; sisters Ceil and Ann; and her brother, Tom.
She is survived by her husband of nearly 62 years, Ternie; sister, Agnes Waldren of San Diego, Calif.; sons David (Connie) Taylor of Chinook, Michael (Tamalee) Taylor and Mark (Linda) Taylor of Billings; daughter Leanne (Don) Knapp of Culbertson; grandchildren Angela (Travis) Kennedy and Sara Taylor of Billings, Matthew (Katie) Frye of Williston, N.D., Whitney Taylor, and Michael Frye of Phoenix, Ariz., and numerous nieces, nephews and special friends.

I think Margaret was a friend of my folks, Curt and Dorothy Christensen. In my foggy memory I seem to remember them talking about Margaret Obrien. We left Chinook in 1951, but I still have fond memories of the town

Sorry to hear about Margaret's passing.

My mother and father, Lucia and Bob Leeds, used to speak very fondly of her.

Margaret always had the time to say hello and ask about the family and I remember that perpetual twinkle in her eye.
