I met Steve in 1960 when we were both very young. My moms family all lived in the Fargo area. My Uncle & Aunt Edgar & Adeline Hjelmstad lived across the street from the King family. we came to Fargo once a year for vacation. Steve & I hit it off from the beginning, became very close friends. We saw each other till we graduated from school then we lost contact I'm from Kirkland Illinois & I have thought about him often. I'm so very sorry about your loss. He was such a special guy ! My cousin Carol told me about Steve from his sister Pam.

In grade school and high school he was Steve. In college they dubbed him "Sky" King. A guy who made friends immediately and forever. So long from your friend, your fraternity brother and your second cousin. My condolences on behalf of the Savageau family.

Jo and family...your loss is great and the grief is felt by many. My memories with Steve I speak about at many of my seminars on fishing. He walked with the best of gentleman, he lived with the passion for the outdoors and he loved you so much, it showed on both of you.
Memories bring comfort and they last forever.

Jo - you are in my prayers. I will never forget the looks of love the two of you shared at your wedding. Stevie was indeed a remarkable human being-kind, generous and good hearted with a tremendous sense of humor. I write this with a very heavy heart.
