Yasuko Aklestad Obituary

BIGFORK - Tokyo, Japan, native Yasuko M. Aklestad, 81, a longtime Bigfork resident who enjoyed sports and fishing and was involved in many community activities, died of natural causes Tuesday at her home in Bigfork.
Her memorial service is 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Little Brown Church in Bigfork, followed by a reception at the church. Urn burial will be private. Johnson Mortuary and Crematory of Kalispell is handling arrangements.
Yasuko is survived by her husband, Arnold Aklestad at the family home; sons, Jim Aklestad of Great Falls and Pete Aklestad of Sacramento, Calif.; a daughter, Linda Lockrem of Kennewick, Wash.; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

CIRCLE - World War II Air Force veteran Phillip Gustavus Haglund Sr., 88, a retired farmer and rancher of McCone County who served on various state and local boards throughout his life, died of natural causes Thursday at Eastern Montana Veteran's Home in Glendive.
At his request, cremation has taken place. His memorial service is 7 p.m. Tuesday at Eastern Montana Veteran's Home in Glendive. A second memorial service is 10 a.m. Wednesday at Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel in Circle, followed by a lunch at Schmidt's Banquet Hall. Inurnment with military honors in Brockway Cemetery will follow the lunch.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Beatrice Haglund of Glendive; his children, Phil Haglund of Brockway, Pam Haglund of Kalispell and Frank Haglund of Hawaii; sisters Ruth Orton of Ogden, Utah and Elizabeth King of Seattle; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
