Allan J. "Al" Leurquin
Green Bay - Allan J. "Al" Leurquin, 71, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Tuesday, July 13, 2021 after courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Green Bay on June 17, 1950 to the late Norman and Rita (Romuald) Leurquin.
Al graduated from West High School in 1968. He was drafted into the U.S. Army March 1970 - November 1971 stationed in Germany. Al was very proud of his service in the U.S. Army. He held a high regard for Veterans and POWs. He was a member of the American Legion Post #66.
He worked as an Ironworker for 37 years retiring in 2010. He was a member of the Ironworkers Local 8 and worked for Boldt Construction and other construction companies. The construction projects he worked on included: Tower Drive Bridge, PAC Center, a wind tower, hospitals, and many others.
Al married the love of his life, Alice Werner on October 27, 1973. This year it would be 50 years together. He has three children and two grandchildren, whom he loved very much.
Family was very important to Al. He taught his sons to golf and coached them in baseball and bowling. He was a member of the Brown County Golf Men's Club. He golfed many outings with his wife and sons. Al enjoyed trap shooting and was a member at both the New Franken Gun Club and Brown County Sportsman Club.
He had a passion for helping others and loved working on projects. Al was the ultimate handyman and could fix anything. He was always there for everyone and a man of his word. His faith was a very important part of his life.
Al started running at the age of 39 and was an avid fitness enthusiast. He ran a full marathon, 25 half marathons and many Bellin runs. He would share his medals with his wife, Alice. She was always there to support him and cheer him on. Al also ran with his daughter, Kim.
He loved to golf, hunt, and fish and enjoyed their cottage up north where our annual family reunion was held. Al loved to host and be the grill master. He loved to travel and went to Gulf Shores the past 8 years. He also enjoyed his trips to Myrtle Beach, Mackinac Island, and Hodag Country Festival.
Survivors include his wife, Alice; children, Kim Buntin, Kevin Leurquin, Ryan Leurquin; grandchildren, Brianna and Cali; brothers, Brian (Arlena), John (Tammy); sister, Lori (Andy) Kurowski; brother-in-law, Jerry (Chris); sister-in-law, Nancy (Dale); special childhood friend, Chuck Maus; nieces, Carrie (Rusty) Johnson, Kelly (Jim) VanderLinden, Tracy (Chris) Elliott, and Brenda Trudell. He is further survived by nephews and nieces, Jeff (Amanda), Scott (Becky), Mark, Josh, Amanda (Joe), Mike (Sandy), Kiara (Alex), Marisa, Kelsie, Taylor, Danielle, Amanda (Frank), Khristina; and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Norman and Rita; sister and brother-in-law, Carol (Chuck) Bero; parents-in-law, Alfred and Stella Werner; brother-in-law, James Werner; nephew, James Trudell; and niece Robin Kohn.
Visitation will be at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave., from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, July 18; followed by a Parish Wake Service at 5 p.m. Visitation will continue at St. Jude Catholic Church, 1420 Division St. from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday, July 19. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. at the church. The family does request that anyone not vaccinated wears a mask. To send online condolences, please go to

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Al's name.
