Andrew Forsythe Obituary

Andrew P. Forsythe, 72, Green Bay, passed away peacefully with his family by his side, Friday, April 20, 2012. He was born May, 9, 1939, in Green Bay to the late Andrew and Mildred (Parish) Forsythe. Andy was a devote Catholic and graduated from Premontre High School with the class of 1957. On June 27, 1959, he married Margaret Gerarden. Together they raised five children. Andrew owned and operated Andy's Sheet Metal and Roofing for 30 years after taking over the family business that his father started in 1944. He will always be remembered for the special place in his heart he had for multiple cats in need.

Survivors include his 5 children: Rose (Dale) Bohlman, Cathy (Jeff) Leitner, Jean (Terry) Peterson, Andrew (Frances) Forsythe, and Tony Forsythe; grandchildren, Joshua, Alicia, Nicole (Jacob), Elizabeth, Nathan, and Abbey; great-grandchildren, Jazlynn, Loralie, River, and Rain; and brothers-in-law, Francis Froelich and Larry Ingebretsen.

Andy was preceded in death by his parents; mother of his children, Margaret; and 4 sisters, Kate, Virginia, Barbara, and Patti.

Family and friends may call Monday, April 23, 2012 at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 130 St. Matthew St. Green Bay, from 4:00p.m. until a parish prayer service at 7:00p.m. Visitation will continue on Tuesday at the church from 10:00a.m. until 11:00a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the church on Tuesday, at 11:00a.m. with Rev. Philip Dinh-Van-Thiep. Burial will be in Allouez Catholic Cemetery. Newcomer Funeral Home is assisting the family 920-432-4841. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Ennis Assisted Living (Matthew's Senior Living) for their loving care they provided Andy and also Unity Hospice in his final days.

Dear Family~ I worked with Andy while he stayed at San Luis...I send condolences to Andy and Tony, as I got to know them as they visited, also to other family members as Andy will always be remembered as a sweetie!! We talked about cats often, as he kitty-sat for me one day as I worked. Thoughts and prayers. ~ Nikki
