Anita Anschutz Obituary

Anschutz, Anita

Anita Mary Anschutz, 82, of Sturgeon Bay, passed away on January 12, 2015, at Ministry Door County Medical Center. She was born on Jan. 3, 1933, to John and Cecelia (Kosak) Maples in Sturgeon Bay. On October 16, 1954, she married Ralph C. Anschutz in Sturgeon Bay; they recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.

Anita farmed in the town of Brussels with her husband for many years. She enjoyed knitting and doing crossword puzzles, but most of all she loved spending time with her family. Anita was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and she adored her great-grandchildren and was anxiously awaiting the arrival of her newest great-grandchild.

Survivors include her husband Ralph; four daughters: Donna (Gus) Larson, Oshkosh; Joan (Chuck) Schley, Forestville; Susan (Charles) Junio, Green Bay; Patti Ahlswede, Brussels; six grandchildren: Chris (Shelly) Schley, Diana (Mark) Logan, Jenny (Randy) Johnson, Amy (Adam) Woodworth, Mathew (Jayne) Ahlswede, and Katie Ahlswede; seven great-grandchildren, with one on the way; two brothers, Robert Maples and Timothy (Bridget) Maples; in-laws, Florence Mentz and Sara Anschutz. She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Sara Sladky; in-laws, Esther Maples, Leonard Sladky, Arthur Mentz and Ken Anschutz.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, January 15, 2015, at St. Joseph Church in Sturgeon Bay. Burial will be in Holy Name of Mary Church Cemetery. Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. Thursday at the church until the time of services. On-line condolences may be offered at www.forbesfuneralhome.com
