Hildegarde Jonet Obituary
Hildegarde (Estel) Jonet, 94, of Green Bay, passed away January 1, 2017. Born on January 29, 1922, she is the daughter of the late Peter and Caroline Estel. She married Norman Jonet on July 14, 1943, at St. Mary's Church in Luxemburg and he preceded her in death on January 29, 2002. Hildegarde, Norman, and her family farmed in New Franken for thirty-three years. She enjoyed many years of volunteering at St. Vincent Auxillary, Chambers Island Retreat House, and Holy Cross School and Church. Hildegarde was an avid blood donor. She was a knowledgeable flower gardener, especially roses.
Survived by her ten children and their spouses, Carol Jacobs of Green Bay, Lois (Helen Everts) Jonet of Minneapolis, Jean (Francisco) Rondon of West Haverstraw, NY, Donna (Paul) Mahlik of Luxemburg, Ken (Sheila) Jonet, Steve (Patti) Jonet, and Kathy Jonet and special friend Tom Basten all of Green Bay, Bonnie (Paul Baker) Jonet of Milwaukee, Bruce (Kristi) Jonet of Baraboo, and Lee Jonet and special friend Fiona Jenkins of San Antonio, TX; twenty one grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; one sister, Betty (Donald) Ledvina; two brothers, Ben (Elaine) Estel, and Bob Estel; two brothers-in-law, Ted Ducat, George (Kitty) Ratajczak; two sisters-in-law, Betty Jonet, and Gladys Jonet and many nieces and nephews.; long time friend, Laura Lee Tegtman.
Preceded in death by her parents, husband, Norman; daughter, Dianne Burbey; son-in-law, Dick Jacobs; brothers, Raymond (Betty) Estel, Peter (Alice) Estel; sisters, Eleanor (Jake) Wachal, Stacie (Frank) Krines, Millie (Eben) Vandeveld; many brothers and sisters-in-law.
Visitation at Malcore East Funeral Home, 701 N. Baird St. Wednesday, January 4, from 4 PM until 8 PM. Visitation will continue at Holy Cross Church, 3009 Bay Settlement Rd., Thursday from 10 AM until the time of the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM with Rev. Michael Weber, O Praem and Rev. Timothy D. Shillcox, O Praem officiating. Entombment at Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Aurora BayCare ICU and Dr. Mark Riedy.
