LeRoy Sherman Obituary

Sherman, LeRoy "Lee" C.

LeRoy "Lee" C. Sherman, 81, Green Bay, passed away Saturday, April 19, 2014, at his home surrounded by his wife, children and grandchildren following a ten year battle with cancer. He was born July 13, 1932, in Green Bay to Conrad and Eleanor (Kirchner) Sherman.

Lee attended West High School and enlisted in the U.S. Navy. He was honorably discharged in 1954. On May 21, 1955, he married his best friend and love of his life, Marlyce Rendmeister at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Green Bay. He retired from Proctor & Gamble following a 35 year career.

Lee was a devoted husband and loving father and was most happy just spending time with family. You always felt welcomed when you walked in to the house and found him sitting at the kitchen table with his corn cob pipe. He loved getting up at the crack of dawn and sitting with his sons and nephews, sipping a Bloody Mary and preparing booyah for family events. We will miss seeing his twinkling eyes as he handed each of kids and grandkids their "little extra" Christmas envelope.

Lee is survived by his wife, Marlyce; three children, Randy (Cathy DeValk) Sherman, Rick (Patty) Sherman, Lisa (Mike) Counard; seven grandchildren, Matt (Katie), Scott (Lauren), Chris, Robby Sherman, Kevin (Rachel), Cassie Carter, Caleb Sherman; one great grandson, Graham Sherman; one sister, Ellen Brice, Arizona; one sister-in-law, Marlene LeTourneau; and very special nieces and nephews, Mike (Faye), Jay (Sharon), Dale (Michelle), Scott (Angie) LeTourneau, Linda (Gene) Blohowiak, Sandy (Rick) Notz, Holly (Brian) Engum, Norbert (Debbie) Brice, Debra (Donald) Derenne, Roy (Candy) Siebert.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Nancy and brother-in-law, Charlie Siebert and their son, Bobby; brother-in-law, Norbert Brice; mother and father-in-law, Andy and Emma Rendmeister; and brother-in-law, Robert (Bob) LeTourneau.

Friends may call at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave., from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday. Friends may also call from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Agnes Church, 1484 Ninth St. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church with Rev. Patrick C. Beno officiating. Entombment will be in the Fort Howard Mausoleum. To send online condolences, please go to www.BlaneyFuneralHome.com.

The Sherman family wishes to extend their gratitude to his physician and assistant, Dr. Mark Jenson and Vicki, and the staffs of Green Bay Oncology including Tara and Dr. Groteluschen, and Hospice Advantage, especially Amanda.
